ASEAN Online Sale Day 2026 – Expanding business opportunities across ASEAN

 08-06-2026

As the digital economy continues to grow rapidly, cross-border e-commerce is becoming an increasingly important driver of economic integration in Southeast Asia. According to Mordor Intelligence, the region’s cross-border e-commerce market is projected to reach USD 84.74 billion by 2031, nearly doubling its 2025 market size. This robust growth is being fueled by the rapid expansion of digital consumers, continuous improvements in digital infrastructure, and regional policies that promote deeper economic integration.

Today, ASEAN is home to approximately 402 million digital consumers, while electronic payments and digital wallets have become mainstream payment methods for online transactions. At the same time, the implementation of trade facilitation commitments under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), together with the expansion of bonded warehouse networks and enhanced customs cooperation across ASEAN, is helping shorten delivery times, reduce logistics costs, and create a more favorable environment for cross-border e-commerce.

To harness these opportunities, ASEAN is working towards the development of an integrated regional e-commerce market where businesses and consumers can connect more seamlessly through digital platforms. One of the region’s flagship initiatives supporting this vision is the ASEAN Online Sale Day (AOSD).

Held annually since 2020, AOSD has evolved beyond a regional online shopping campaign into a key initiative that promotes cooperation among ASEAN Member States in the field of e-commerce. The programme provides businesses with valuable opportunities to showcase their products, expand their customer base, and integrate more deeply into regional and global supply chains. It also promotes the unique cultures and signature products of ASEAN countries while strengthening connections between businesses and consumers across the region.

The 2026 ASEAN Online Sale Day will take place from 8 to 10 August 2026 under the chairmanship of the Philippines, ASEAN Chair for 2026. The campaign will feature two business-focused components: promotional activities for domestic markets and cross-border sales initiatives connecting businesses and consumers across ASEAN.

In addition to offering promotional campaigns, participating businesses will be entitled to use the official ASEAN Online Sale Day branding and benefit from promotional activities through ASEAN’s official communication channels. The initiative offers an excellent opportunity for companies to strengthen their brand visibility, reach hundreds of millions of consumers across Southeast Asia, and capitalize on the region’s rapidly growing cross-border e-commerce market.
